DEFINITION

HARDCORE UNIFORM was founded in 2024. The project comes from years of working with vintage garments and understanding how certain pieces circulate over time. During this process, Australian tracksuits emerged as a category of their own, belonging to a specific niche with its own references, history, and visual language.

Finding the right pieces is not immediate. Research takes time and depends on condition, size, colorway, and production period. Some garments appear rarely and require long periods of selection.

HARDCORE UNIFORM was created to gather this work into a single archive and make it accessible through a dedicated platform.

CONTEXT

Australian tracksuits have been part of hardcore and gabber culture since the 1990s. They were worn in clubs and on dancefloors as part of the scene, not as fashion. Over time, these garments became recognizable for their colors, cuts, and materials.

Names like Terinda and Glimmer are familiar within this culture because they define the look and presence of the tracksuit. Each piece included in the archive is selected individually, with focus on condition, visual impact, and coherence with the context they come from.

HARDCORE UNIFORM operates today as an archive. At the same time, it is building the foundation for future original garments, taking cues from the materials, graphics, and visual codes of the era, reworked into new uniforms.
